Introduction
For all young people familiarity and friendship may be the cornerstone of progressive development. This course explores the role of a mentor and how mentoring can be beneficial when working with young people on a one to one basis.

Course Aims
The course will explore what qualities are necessary to become a successful mentor, and will explain the mentoring relationship from start to finish.

With a clear goal in mind, the individual will develop the skills to create a mentoring relationship.

The ability to take in information through the formation of listening and communication skills, and the creation of a positive action plan will be dealt with in detail.

The importance of maintaining structure in the relationship, its scope and its boundaries are also driven home.
